A group of artists have reinterpreted these images of women and created works of art to share their message with other women around the world, thus fostering a network of mutual support in the fight for a more just and egalitarian world.

The exhibition is located in the lobby of the first floor of the Student House, and can be visited until October 2, at the opening hours of the building.

Pandemic Community exhibition

pandemiccomunnity.blogs.upv.es

At a time when we are facing a “new planet” due to the presence of a new disease that has completely altered all spheres of human life, some epidemiologists prefer to think of this as a passing issue, while others advocate looking at the situation from the perspective of the “new normal”, to which new viruses, zoonoses, variants and mutations are being added.

Creating Immunity on Planet Earth through Art and Activism
In this online transmedia art exhibition, we start with the concept of community itself, and how it is being affected by the pandemic, which is destroying entire families, villages and communities, especially those with fewer resources, the poorest. At the same time, we observe the overuse of technologies and social media in all fields, as they can involve various types of actors in different parts of the world. In our case, in this exhibition Pandemic Community we wanted to generate a context of a hybrid multimodal and transnational network, where we find artists from different countries, ages, sexes, as well as from different backgrounds.

Circular Economy at Senegal Expo

The following exhibition arises from an international cooperation project developed in a rural area in northern Senegal, Ndioum Walo, which seeks to strengthen and improve agricultural and cooking techniques. The exhibition is based on four themes that aim to raise awareness, from different angles, of traditional cooking in northern Senegal, presenting its strengths and weaknesses. The cooking space and its characteristics, the cooking utensils and their cultural component, the process of cooking, handling and preparation of food and, finally, the diet and daily dishes that feed their homes.
