From the Area of Art and Heritage Fund of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, on the occasion of the International Day for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Goods was held at 11:00 in the Student Recreation Centre the conference “Forgotten Patrimonies”.
This day proposes a space for reflection on the forgotten heritage, addressing goods traditionally excluded from the patrimonial narrative. The meeting seeks to make visible these realities, analyze their problems and rethink the concept of cultural property, valuing conservation and restoration as an active discipline committed to society.

 

Welcome Day January 2026

On January 29, 2026, Welcome Day was held in the gardens of the Student Recreation Center.

The ESN team welcomed the new exchange students who will study this second semester.

During the celebration, paella and drinks were distributed and several student associations participated, taking advantage of the opportunity to make themselves known.

 

The Student Recreation Centre hosts the NGO AIDA “Konngol Rewbe” exhibition

The Student Recreation Centre hosts the NGO AIDA “Konngol Rewbe” exhibition

Today, the “Konngol Rewbe” exhibition organised by NGO AIDA was inaugurated at UPV’s Student Recreation Centre. The exhibition features a collection of artworks inspired by photographs of women from rural communities in Kolda, in southern Senegal.

A group of artists has reinterpreted these images to amplify the voices of the women portrayed and share their message with women around the world, encouraging mutual support in the pursuit of a more just and equal society.

The exhibition is on display in the first-floor lobby of the Student Recreation Centre and can be visited until 2 October, during the building’s opening hours.

🧸 One Toy, One Smile

The UPV Volunteer Programme is organizing a toy collection campaign to bring joy and hope to children in need. The initiative will take place across the three UPV campuses from December 9th to 12th.

Patatas Lázaro rewards young Fine Arts talent at UPV on its 80th anniversary

Patatas Lázaro has presented the award for its creative challenge aimed at students from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), an initiative launched to celebrate the company’s 80th anniversary. The challenge invited students to reinterpret the brand’s history, values and purpose through art.

The winning artwork was created by young artist Carmen Muñoz Estellés, whose piece stands out for blending the organic and human worlds as a metaphor for the people and values that have shaped the company’s journey.

The award ceremony took place on 19 December at UPV’s Student Recreation Centre, with the attendance of the jury, company representatives and participating students.

Through this initiative, Patatas Lázaro strengthens its commitment to culture, innovation and young talent, fostering collaboration between the university and business sectors. The artworks will be on display at the Ximo Mora Exhibition Hall, located in the Student Recreation Centre, until 9 January 2026.

UPV Blood Donor Day

From the Student Recreation Center ,we would like to thank the entire university community that participated in the UPV Blood Donor Day, held last Wednesday, November 26th
163 people came forward to donate blood, of which 95 were giving it for the first time.
Blood cannot be manufactured and is needed every day of the year in Valencian hospitals.
Recognizing the work of the student volunteers who were motivating and informing throughout the day.
